Who does Job Quest help?
Job Quest is an employment program that offers specialized supports and services. We help people with disabilities or other impairments to find and keep a good job. We can help you if:
 

  • You have a disability or other impairment that interferes with the ability to find and keep a job or you are on social assistance.
  • You are ready and willing to prepare for work.
  • You are 16 years of age or older.
  • You live in the City of Kawartha Lakes, Ontario or Haliburton County, Ontario.


We can also help if:
 

  • You have difficulty expressing yourself, communicating with others, reading or writing, following instructions, completing tasks, solving problems and/or multi-tasking (doing more than one thing at a time)
  • You experience chronic stress, anxiety and / or depression
  • You live with chronic pain or illness
  • You have visual, hearing or other physical impairments
  • You need extra time to do a good job

Anxiety
Trouble with strong stressful and worrisome feelings.
Chronic pain or illness
Chronic means "always there." Chronic pain is pain that you are feeling all, or almost all, of the time. Chronic illness is an illness that you have to live with all of your life and that will not go away, although it might be manageable through lifestyle changes.
Chronic stress
Ongoing feelings of discomfort, upset or nervousness.
Depression
Stress or anxiety that is so bad that you feel sad and low all of the time and have trouble feeling happy, seeing good things around you or enjoying activities that you used to enjoy.
Disability or other impairment
We can help people with:
Physical disability (of the body)
Cognitive disability (of thinking)
Learning disability (trouble learning)
Developmental disability (of the intellect)
Psychiatric disability (of the brain)
Attention Deficit Disorders (trouble focusing on one task)
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders (trouble focusing on one task and trouble staying calm)

An employment program provides specialized supports and services when it helps a specific group of people. In this case, the specific group of people helped by Job Quest are those who have disabilities or other impairments that can make it difficult to find or keep a job.
